Abingdon 2020 Fireworks

2020 Fireworks @ Dalton Barracks & Henley Showground With Xplosive Events

2020 was a trying year for all industries.

Especially the events sector.

ATP supplied 6x SGM BEASTS which were used as sky scanners to light up the night sky, bonfire and hot air baloons along with a generator and power distrobution.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the event industry, causing many events to be canceled or postponed indefinitely. Governments around the world were forced to implement measures to prevent the spread of the virus, including restrictions on large gatherings and social distancing requirements, which made it impossible to hold many types of events.

The event industry encompasses a wide range of activities, including conferences, trade shows, concerts, festivals, weddings, and sporting events. The impact of COVID-19 on each of these areas was significant. Many events have been canceled outright, while others have been rescheduled to a later date or moved to a virtual format.

The financial impact on the event industry was very severe. Many event organizers had lost revenue due to the cancellation or postponement of events, and many businesses that rely on events for their livelihood have been forced to close permanently. The pandemic also had a ripple effect on other industries, such as hospitality, transportation, and entertainment, which were all been impacted by the decline in event-related business.

Yet during this time our client came up with a way to keep evryone safe but still put on an incredible show.

Drive in fireworks

Drive-in fireworks are a type of fireworks display that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own car. With drive-in fireworks, spectators can park their cars in a designated area and watch the fireworks display from their vehicles.

Drive-in fireworks become increasingly popular during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to allow people to enjoy a fireworks display while maintaining social distancing. They offer a safe alternative to traditional fireworks displays that typically involve large crowds gathering in a public space.

To attend a drive-in fireworks event, spectators typically needed to purchase tickets in advance and arrive at the designated parking area at a specified time. Once parked, spectators can tune their car radios to a designated FM station to listen to music or commentary synchronized with the fireworks display.

The Xplosive Event Group held a number of these events during the pandemic and with those events they were able to help support a vast amount of industry suppliers from caterers to ourselves.
